LOL! Thanks for that. I have a sneaky fondness for that song. In
    fact...

That's what they wear here in Texas, where it's sometimes 110F and
100% humidity. I'm bringing some home with me.

    Here's an example:

If you hold it up you can see through it, it's very, err, meshy.

I've come to terms with the fact. Though if one more person says 'you
think too much' I may let rip the rant I've been brewing.

We face this dilemma a lot when touring in hot climes. Our solution is
to aim to keep each ride to one of two types -

medium to fast, covering distance, in cordura or leathers, on the move
most of the time, speed keeping you cool

slow, shortish bimbles where we potter about in cool clothes and ride
    very carefully.

    Wot Geoff Duke said.

I bought my first pair of levver troos about 5 years ago, and have
worn them about half a dozen times. They just feel "wrong". My
armoured Salopettes feel odd, too, so I only wear them if I feel I
need to. (no, I don't know how I work that out)

As Champ said, I grew up in jeans, trainers, and a leather jacket, and
that's what I'm used to. Except I no longer have a leather jacket that
    fits.

Oddly, I very, very, rarely ride without gloves. Maybe once or twice a
    year, and never very far.

Oh, I don't wear shorts for purely sartorial reasons.

I've fallen off naked, with nothing worse than nettle rash.

Conversely, I've never falled off whilst wearing leathers.

The conclusion? Wearing safety gear is dangerous.

this is my view - the first thing you instinctively put out in fall is
your hands - fine when tripping over when chasing a wildebeest, not so
    good at 60mph.

Bring the book with you if you do attend please, I'll curl up in a

If you want to be safer take the car, other than that go for what you feel
    best.

Personally I generally wear leathers, but I've no aversion to wearing
jeans/trainers on hot days either with or without a leather jacket.

On very hot days I'll wear shorts and a t-shirt without gloves (because
gloves with a t-shirt looks crap).

I'm pretty slow anyway, but I don't think I go any slower when I'm not fully
kitted up. In fact I quite enjoy the feeling of hanging my leg out into the
breeze when cornering in jeans/shorts. If I could GMKD I might feel
    differently :)

It looked different to me, but then I am different aren't I.

From where I was sitting, it looks like the bike threw an unexpected wheelie
(to her anyway) and in the process of leaning her off for all her might
she's tried to stay on the bike, not quite realising the physics of the
situation that she hasn't got a hells chance of staying on. Thats how I saw
it anyway. Certainly didn't look like she was trying to get off
purposefully. Hence the arms flailing around toward the pillion seat.
    Very Jackie Chan though.

Who care now anyway, shes road waffle. Maybe her airbags saved her. Or maybe
shes a stuntlady and does it for a living.

Linen shirt, Rohan Backpackers, Ecco slip-ons. No gloves. Faithful
battered Quantum/f was apparently salvaged with the bike.
