Yes, i can read, however exactly at what point does this say that he was
aggressive, violent, a fuckwit or lawbreaking?

It's more a viaduct than a bridge. Fabulous looking thing and I'll have
to give it a go when I get the chance.

  8. Um...I didn't say that he broke the law. As for his being a fuckwit, maybe
    she reads UKRM..

So what's ".... who don't hesitate to take the law into their own hands."
    mean then?
And are you now implying that TOG has done a molly or that the bint in the
    car reads UKRM?

  10. Rather spoilsportingly, they have strung cables below the spans to stop
    anyone flying under it.

I think you will find that is specifically aimed at us Brits. It is a
thing about France innit eh? Many of the pilots this country has
trained seem to end up logging many hours flying under bridges on that
particular part of the mainland. Although traditionally they used to
cheer and wave at our jolly japes.

  12. DP, DP....

    <adopts paternal tone>

Can't you see this is standard Des practice, when he's fucked up?

First, he backtracks and denies that's what he said. Of course he thinks
what I did was illegal, or he wouldn't have mentioned it. I mean, who's
going to slag someone off for perfectly legal proper behaviour? Apart
    from Des, of course...

He'll now try and start an argument to the effect that "taking the law
into one's own hands" doesn't mean "illegal".

At the same time, he'll be relieved because you won't push his other
ludicrous point, which was that I was violent. When, as we all know, I
    was exactly the opposite.

    KF him. YKIMS.

SNIP Des being a pillock (what's new?)
But that's what he was doing.
    Ah, as you were....
I was just waiting to see if he would reply, my next thought was to push
    exactly that point.
It does, but **** knows why, but i enjoy helping him to look as big a ****
    as possible :)

Verdigris emerged from their own little world to say
You're right. The frogs are calling it a viaduct. It has sides like the
    new Severn Crossing.

"This viaduct also features high-efficiency safety barriers
(specifically designed to contain a truck crash), 3-metre-high
transparent windbreaks, hard shoulders and lighting, all of which were
custom engineered to enhance user safety and comfort."

I've only spent a couple of days in the Clermont Ferrand. I'd like to go
back to explore the area further. Another reason to go now.

We're going to Linda's folks via that, next time.

Heh! I thought of you as soon as I saw the news story about this. I was
just wondering whether it would feature in a future TogTour, and whether
we'd have to sedate you and get someone to ride your bike across it with
you bungied to the pillion seat.

<waves> I've had repeated nightmares since I was small about a huge
    bridge breaking.

Stuck in a traffic jam on the severn bridge in the late eighties in
the high winds and feeling the car going up and down as the thing
flexed I thought 'shit, I should have paid attention to the dream'.

I've not been over it since.

Big bridges are beautiful to look at (and for once I think Foster got
the look spot on) but no way am I going over it.
