How the world changes....

  1. At *very* eek speeds.

Today was the first time I got to ride the ZZR11 with any real vengeance.

    Fook.

Firstly, I've not owned a faired bike before. It's a huge difference, I
don't just mean the lack of wind (which, is rather blissful) but little
things, like the clocks not moving when you turn the bars etc. Very
weird, but I'm getting used to it already.

Secondly, I bought this with a vague hope that it would encourage me to
ride a bit more sensibly, as is the whim of the CloggyPolitie. After
all, it;s a lardy tourer with panniers and top box etc. Compared to the
bandit which stood, audiably and visually, out like a pig in a mosque,
this certainly doesn't. However I fear I may have made a mistake. It's
    reasonably quick it is.

I have discovered the delights of 165mph+.

    This is *not* good.

    My licence fears.

    I like it.

    Need it.

  2. In uk.rec.motorcycles, Doesnotcompute amazed us all with this pearl of
    wisdom:
The headlight's another one, in the dark.
    Bollocks, it's fucking great!
The only thing (apart from an errant, turnip brained motorist) that
    keeps my speed in check.
    It's nice, well done.
Keeping the faring won't make it go any quicker you know ;)

How would you know... the CBR Thou in full 'plastic behemoth' regalia,
shrugs its shoulders at about 155... so they tell me, and somehow I doubt a
GS450 is up for those sorts of speeds... ;-)

I saw an indicated 280kph, that's good enough for me ;)
Well yeah, and I haven't said this for a *very* long time, but the GS
does 80mph on the flat! Great or what! Hahahahahahaha!

I take it that you won't be going back to a cruiser, then?

Yeah, totally different type of fun.

The cruiser, I can ride to it's limits, and like any small bike it's a
real hoot to do so, but you proably wouldn't catch me doing a 600 mile
    commute on it again.

The Bandit, I reckon I was probably pushing it's luck, again, a hoot in
    a hooligan kind of way.

The ZZR is riding me to my limits. Compared to it, I'm incapable. Going
to take some learning and a few 'moments' will come my way - of that I'm
    sure.
