Ah well ... I'm stuck with NTLFreedom for now on 512, but there is a rumour
they're upgrading soon ... I half hoped you might have been the first ..

 

Is that better than what it was? And was it expected?

 

It's the Pipex upgrade kicking in. It will go up to 2.2 soon.

 

They've done fall with mine so far. <drums fingers>

 

It appears that BT have revised their estimate to "sometime in August" for
us, mate... :-/

Odd thing is that since the Pipex/BT upgrade to 1.1 my ADSL router-modem
thingy only works when plugged into the primary socket. The two
extensions internal to the house now don't want to play. Any advice on
replacement cables?

 

I read in the press today that Blueyonder are going to up their 1 meg
to 4 meg and their 3 meg to 10 megs early next year.

With no change in price and no transfer restrictions.

That'll be nice.

 

You do know that I hate you all?

Wannadon't sent out a mass mailing a few weeks ago, that they
could now upgrade punters to 2 Mbps, but at a cost of £20. I tried
looking into it but lines were so overloaded that it took a few days to
get through. Just when I decided that a one-off £20 was probably better
than the hassle of changing to another ISP, I got through and started to
sign up: "We can offer your line a maximum of 1 Mbps!" Stuff that for a
game of soldiers!
