....on a diet of beans or spaghetti on toast, before he dies a horrible
    death?

I think I may have to start calling the takeaways and have menus
    delivered.

Don't bother mate. Menus are horrible, boiled fried or grilled.

You lazy sod! There's a perfickly good Tescos near you... Besides, I
never thought much of the choice of takeaways near you. Pizza Paradise
is possibly the most inappropriately named...

I didn't. The grown ups left me alone to fend for myself. I think the
tomato plants are being better fed than me this week.

Bollocks, looks like a trip into the big city[1] then.

    Furry muff...

Tesco's ready meals are pretty good as mass-produced stuff goes. I can
heartily recommend their Liver, Bacon Mash & Onion gravy. Mmm...
Heh. Vietnamese/Chinese place at Brogborough was ok.

You could always make an effort to learn..

Alternatively, as Bear likes cooking you could invite him over..

Blimey, how could you manage to **** up doing something as simple as,
say, shepherds pie. Or, if push comes to shove, mince (with onions,
peas, carrots - if desired - salt, pepper, garlic, herbs and a dash of
hot pepper sauce if you fancy it a bit warm), and roast potatoes that
you get out of the freezer?
If all else fails, ready-made ding meals are available fairly cheaply,
    especially with the BOGOFF options.

Worksop has the best chinese takeaway I have ever had the pleasure of
dealing with. It was so good that when I had flu the delivery driver
knocked on my door to see if I was ok, cos I hadn't ordered for a week.
    The food was scrumptious too.

I always got a bamboo roll calendar from them too.

    At least 4 years.
Nah. If you can do generic-stuff-in-can-on-toast then you'll be sorted
    for:
    beans
    beans+sausage
    soup (good variety here)
    spaghetti
    chilli/beef/chicken/etc/etc

If you start feeling a bit off and your teeth drop out it's probably
scurvy. Throw a tin of mixed veg in with whatever you're cooking.

If you think that sounds horrible then there's two bits of advice:
    1) It'll make you appreciate Elly's wonderful cookery all the more.
    2) I once ate a spag-bol that had smash, bisto, bovril and baked beans
as ingredients. Whatever you make (providing it's not that) will taste
    better.
