My mate not only lent me his wife to take to a rally (Mad Axeman, Witton
Castle). But to top that off he lent me his bike [1] as well :)

[1] RF900 , not a bad cheap bit of motor.

Did you lend him Jean and one of your bikes for the weekend to return
    the favour?

It's like a new take on the Champ Challenge, only you take your own wife
along and tell your mate about it in advance.

A good mate will help you move.

A really good mate will help you move a body.

Hmmmm. Don't tempt me. (Charred oak should make a very dark one - that's
how dark rum is flavoured and coloured. Light whiskies are generally
matured in newly-made American oak barrels, I think.)

I used to know someone in Scotland who made rather a lot - then matured
it in oak. He converted forty gallons of wash at a time.

The whole 'split infinitive' thang is largely discredited now, but if
you were a real pedant you'd realise that it 'should' be "correctly to
    format".
