How do I remove my datatool alarm

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Michael J. Yup, Jun 19, 2004.

  1. Hi,

I have a datatool evo plus alarm on my bike and I'm trading it in for another
    bike in the week.

How do I take the alarm off the old bike and put it on the new bike without
asking the dealer to do it. He's bound to want to take a bit off the trade in
if I ask him to take it off for me. I have the original documents somewhere
which tells me where the switch (or something) is located. All of the docs
say that it should not be touched by anyone except the dealer.

Would I be able to take it off? and how long would it take me? - I'm a very
amateur mechanic (I can manage an oil change, etc.)

For the alarm to count for insurance purposes it has to be professionally
fitted. If you go and talk to a professional fitter, they might remove the
alarm for free if you get it reinstalled on the new bike by them.

Angle grinder? - I've only got a hammer and mole grips in my toolkit!
