I actually got my wife on her motorcycle today. Thats quite an
accomplishment. I put my wife thru the MSF course and she got her license
about a year ago and i bought her a 2003 ninja 250. Thats a real good
starter bike. She only rode it a few times right after she got her license
and she hasnt rode it in a long time. I got pissed this morning and told her
today was motorcycle schoolin day and she didnt fight me on it this time. I
like to have fell over. We rode around our neighborhood for about a hour and
then she wanted to go eat lunch. I figured she would want to go in the car
or truck but she mounted right up on that motorcycle like a pro and away we
    went.
We didnt ride but about 30 miles today but i was so damned excited about her
riding i had to share. Who knows, maybe she will start to like it and i can
give her my V-Star and buy me a new bike.( Wishfull thinking probably on my
    part )

around corners and the footpegs almost touching the ground gets to her.(LOL)
She told me one day that she might feel more confortable if she was in
control. I asked her if she was talking about riding her OWN bike. She said
yea i would like to try it. Thats all she had to say to me and i had her in
that class so fast it made her head spin. I had her that motorcycle bought
and at the house the next day. Shes just a little scared being on the road
around cars right now. I take her over to this real large empty parking lot
and she rides like a pro. I get her on the street and she gets a little
scared. I tell her that all that will go away with time and practice. I will
get her there before long as long as she will continue to ride and practice.
I am still in shock that she actually rode today. I told i am so excited
that i may just go buy her a brand new Champion bass boat...lmao

custom. I dont know if you have the service manual or not but i have on CD
the service manual, supplement manual and even the assembly manuals for all
2003 Yamaha motorcycles. Mine is a 2001 and nothing has changed that i can
tell. My brother in law said that the 2000 thru 2005 uses the same manuals.
If you need the file, i can send it to ya.

<whoo..hooo> I got so worked up that you'd finally got the little woman on
that motorcycle, I just couldn't restrain myself and jumped on the Green
Vulcan to go pick the Mexican up at work.. heehee.. She kinda spit and
sputtered.. (the mexican, not the green one> but, since that was her only
means to get home, she mounted up..

Well now, we sure had us a nice little cruise about Irving.. ain't that a
hoot ? Funny how she'll mount up, ride to the west coast, Arizona or down
into Mexico and it's like pulling teeth to get her on that thing in the
    hometown..

The little cruise a bout went just fine until we had started to La Casa..
then she informed me that she desperately needed to make a Kroger stop..
Milk, bread and butter, I'm thinking.. She went inside and by the time I
caught up with her, she had a shopping cart almost half full.. Holy crap..
the scrap commenced when I started unloading that damned cart.. LOL. I
finally got her home with milk, bread and a box of butter, but it was only
after I convinced her that we'd live without some of those other necessities
of life that she was determined to take home on the motorcycle.. Guess that
will just be a lesson to me.. ROTFL.. Regards..

‘‘Hey Redshad, I am currently teaching my wife to ride. We go
to the High School big 'Ol Parking lot. I havent gotten her in 3rd gear
yet. She wants to learn, She said to learn either to get it out of her
system, or get it in her system. One of her daughters has a 600 shadow,
and rides pretty well, and my daughter also has a 600 Shadow, and she
ride very well, She and Randy, one of her gal friends Carol and J.R. ,
and me and Honey have rode a couple hundred miles on a couple of sundays
lately. What really makes my Honey wanna learn is when we go to Rallys,
The one in HotSprings, a few weeks ago, we saw lots of Gals riding.
Those Gals were riding mainly the Sportsters, but we saw quite a few
riding the Big Ol Harley Hogs, It really amazed us, hoiw many gals are
    riding these days.
I would venture to say, 20% of the Riders were Gals at the Rally.

Yea i know what you mean. We have alot of women riders all around us. Like
tonight, we just got home from eating dinner and we saw probably about 4 or
5 women on motorcycles. My ole gal is still in the early learning stages but
shes getting better. We are all going to Fredericksburg Tx this weekend to
ride. There will be aprox. 15 people that are going to meet there.(family
and friends). I am taking her motorcycle with us so i am hopeful that i can
rope her into riding down there. I have my doughts but maybe..just
maybe. What kind of motorcycle does your wife have? I like those Honda
    Shadows..those are good lookin motorcycles.

Congrats! While I haven't gotten as far with my wife as you have when
we were up in Alaska I did get her to learn how to ride ATV's and
snowmobiles. Maybe if I can get the Air Force to send us back up to
Alaska I can add motorcycles to the list. <g>

Anyhow, hope you and your wife have many great rides together.

Almost had me a 2002 Shadow 600 today. It was a trade in at the
dealership I work for. Unfortunately the receptionist at the shop (she
has a 250 Rebel and just got her license a couple of months ago) beat
me to it. I tried to tell her that she was still wet behind the ears
and that my GL500 would be better for her but she didn't fall for it.
    <g>

Anyhow, I know what you mean about how more and more women are getting
in on the fun. My wife likes to say "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".
We used to do a lot of stuff together when we were in Alaska but I
still think that was because she wanted to keep an eye on me and
didn't trust me out of her sight. <sfsf>

Yeah, that's the one problem about riding a bike to the store. Not
much room in the saddle bags to put stuff. The plus side is it
prevents the wife from calling me up and asking me to pick up a bunch
of stuff from the grocery store on my way home from work. <g>

‘‘Ya'll, I reckon that has happened to all of us. The craziest
thing that happended to me, actually more than once, was stopping, to
pick up a couply items. Pittle around in the Super Market, buy this and
that, get stuff I need, get stuff that wasnt on the list. Check Out, and
right after paying, think, crap, I am on the dern MotorBike. sheWahWah.
BUT, I've always manage to stuff the saddle bags tie stuff on, and tie
atleast one yellow plastic bag , around my waste,in front of & over he
    fuel tank. heh heh....BJAY
