I was thinking of writing this up in a dozen or so pages of prose,
then posting it in 3 months time, but I thought Gary might not
appreciate me stealing his style. ;-)

    Friday
0400 (Tarago) - Alarm goes off.
0415 (Tarago) - after remembering my name and purpose, I get underway.
0745 (Maroubra) - Load a GS500E, head for the Pacific Hwy
    0900 (Hornsby) - Johnnie5 calls, asks if I can take a Z50 to Brisbane.
I tell him I'm already at Wyong.
0910 (Hornsby) - I pass a couple of young Goth Girls hitchhiking
    north.
1100 (Raymond Terrace) - I pass the Goth Girls again.
1300 (Port Macquarie) - I pass the Goth Girls again.
1900 (Ballina) - I finish paying for my fuel, and must have made the
    mistake
of thinking "Wow, this trip is going really
    smoothly!"
When I get back to my truck, it's standing in the
    middle of
    a small lake of coolant.
2030 (Ballina) - I locate the source of the leak as being the water
    pump. The
Repco is already shut, so I find a place to stay.

    Saturday
0830 (Ballina) - The servo mechanic arrives, and says he'll loan me
    some tools
and expertise. Amazingly the Repco has the water
    pump I need
    in stock, for $135.
    1130 (Ballina) - Back underway.
1300 (Mt Tamborine) - I collect my CT90. The seller has a trio of V12
    Jaguars
in his garage, all in mint condition, and he STILL
    tries to
    gouge me.
1430 (Mt Tamborine) - While heading back to the freeway along a steep,
    narrow
road I pull over to let a string of cars past, and
    nearly roll
the truck when I discover that the long grass on the
    side of
the road was hiding a 30cm deep ditch.
    1600 (Mt Crosby) - I deliver the GS500E.
1750 (Brisbane) - I get lost heading to Clem's place, and somehow find
    myself
    heading back to Ballina.
2200 (Ballina) - Had enough for the day.

    Sunday
0600 (Ballina) - Back on the road.
1000 (Macksville) - I pick up an FJ1200 to bring back to Canberra.
1600 (Wyong) - Stop by Pete's place to admire his Trans Am.
1900 (Cabramatta) - Hungry Jack's for dinner. I made it all the way
    from
Hornsby to Campbelltown via the Cumberland Hwy (Route
    7) and
only hit 15 red lights. That's a new record, it's
    usually
    about 50 or 60.
2215 (Tarago) - Home again, jiggity jig.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Three months? Three years is
    better, instant classic!
You'll never grow up to be a Dirty Old man!
Your new toy (to replace Godzilla)?
    Your concrete missed you.

It's the route I'm familiar with, and I reckoned that given the time,
day and direction it should be pretty clear. And it was.

    You're writing GPz900's now? ;-)
Nope, this one was a Repo for ACT Motorcycle Wreckers (although they
didn't actually TELL me it was a Repo job until I got back!) My new
toy is the '67 Honda CT90.
If it is't raining, that long, painful ordeal will get finished on
    Saturday.

Err, the one on the left?
You know, after racking my brains trying to remember that lyric for 3
hours it really wasn't WORTH remembering!
