I need to source some hose for fuel and cracnk breathing. I'd like to
get the clear stuff with the sort of criss cross thread reinforcement
thru it to suit 6 and 10mm spigots. Anyone know of a source?

  4. I detest that stuff. after contact with fuel for any length of time it
    becomes rock hard.

I had a loop hanging on a beam in the garage that managed to turn
rockard without contact with anything. Probably genuine special Atco
    self-hardening fuel hose.
And these loops of tube very often acquire a tenant, like a spider or
earwig, which does little for fuel flow if overlooked and is horrible
    when sucked into the mouth.

    B&Q.They have it on rolls.

Yes it yellows and gets hard after a while so buy 2 metres for 2 quid.

Not thought about stuffing something (paper, plastic, old ear-protectors)
in the ends of the tube to keep it clear, then?

With an old ear-protector stuffed up the end of his hose, he won't need
    Viagra.

If you mean the clear PVC stuff don't use it for fuel (or oil for that
matter) as it goes hard and then leaks. It also looks shit.

Just go into a half decent Motor Factors (this doesn't mean Halfords) and
buy 8 or 10mm fuel line by the metre.

Obviously not - far too sensible for me, and I would probably poke
it down too far and make an immovable blockage necessitating chopping
a bit off the tube and leaving a length that is now too short for the
    job. :)

Alternative I guess is to get a piece of dowel that's a tight fit in the
tube, then stuff it half way into both ends, join both ends together
and stow the resultant assembly. Sorted!

That's an expensive way of sealing the ends of exposed bits of tube ;-)

Okie-dokie. Good idea. Mine dew, that involves all the complication and
challenge of finding that bit of suitable dowel.
No prob - I'll swap you a pack of cyber-Old Holborn for a cyber-pint of
cyber-Guinness, because I smoke but don't drrink. Sorted!
