I wonder how delighted you'd be if it was your livelyhood or work that was
    being targetted/eroded/devalued.

I realise he didn't actually do anything wrong - letting him off I have no
problem with - it's the people who will now use that to line their own
pockets from the hard work of someone else that I have an issue with. [2]

[2] yes yes, overpricing corporate megoliths blah blah blah

I'm currently suing some **** in the High Court for ripping off one of my
    designs.

... but that wouldn't stop me ripping off software, MP3s etc. Cos I'm an
    arrogant hypocrite.

    This isn't information though, it's a product.

I think it's entertaining that the RIAA are going after CD-WOW.com for
selling CDs too cheap :) Price-fixing-tastic mate, rock on!

  7. I must say, I struggle with this one.

On the one hand, I am totally against piracy.

On the other hand, the companies rip the consumer off
mercilessly. With LOTR "Two Towers", they release
two versions - one original, then one with extra
footage, at twice the price. This is fine - it's called
"choice", but they release the original one first, then the
other a couple of months later, so that punters will rush
out and buy the original, then have to buy the second
one as well to get the extra footage.

No doubt there will be a "Collecters Edition" as well,
    soon.

    Rant over.

Ah, but that's like the football teams who change their strip every five
minutes, so the fans "have to" go out and buy the new one.

    It's just a stupidity tax.

Why not download the version you want and then make a donation to charity of
what you feel would be a fair price for said item.

  10. You're right. That's why I have last seasons West Ham
shirt - that I bought for a tenner 'cos it was about to
    become out-of-date.

So is it OK if I just go and nick the bike I want, and send some money
