we left here early, to go to camp albert pike, sunday before Mem Day, and managed to dodge the rain all the way. we noticed, puddles, but it appeared we were following the rain. that's what scattered showers mean, it can rain every other 10 miles, on and on. we got damp, but not wet. we joined the daughter and SIL, and rode to Hot Springs, all up in that area, and then over to Arkadelphia, and parted, and they went back to the camp site, we headed south on hwy 67. Shoot,I got pulled over for the first time in 30 years, on a motorcycle, that is! I had just 'throttled' the big ol valk, all the way up to 65, coming out of Arkdelphia. Honeyjay saw an Ar. Patrolmen, about 1/4 mile up ahead. He pulled over on the shoulder, and started flahing everybody. For some reason,I knew it was me he wanted to chat with, I hooked 'em quickly to an abrupt stop, with in 30 feet in front of his unit, before he knew it. I stopped, got my credentials out, and he walked up and said ''please get off and stand back here''. he told me he clocked me doing 65 in a 55. I agreed, and said ''sorry about'' that. I told him, we really like touring around in his wonderful state of Arkansas. That we'd been all up in the ozarks, a riding and eating ark food. He said, well, hold that big bike down, I said oh yeah, yesir, I know that the entire state has 55mph signs on all the highways. I said ''I was just gonna go a little faster on this straight stretch for a few miles, but my lady saw you.'' He actually grinned, and said safe riding, and I shore like that big ol motorsikel, ya' got there. (footpeg note)--When's the last time you got stopped by the law?-- anybody. B.
