anybody hear of some handling problems of the VTX1300 ....too much
camber?,,,,,,, related to the steering friction adjuster?

I am not trying to dis the machine or start a rumor..

.. we had a strange, deadly, crash in the familiy ....by an
outstanding athlete with an outstanding sense of balance..(.long time
rider)......2PM on a warm, bright, dry day..

I risk tipping you off but.......will say ....the bike went on to the
shoulder...a hard class five or compacted dirt shoulder, abutting a
chamfer curb...and he was unable to keep it upright and bring it back
    on to the pavement...........at 40-50? mph.........apparently

the bike appeared to tumble instead of laying down on the " turn
into" side......that is the preliminary data, anyway. Altho' I visited
the scene and thought the "tire skid mark" was a "frame gouge" in the
    dirt....oh well.....

if it tumbled....I find that very odd ...........

I am sure he went on to the shoulder because he was too close to the
edge and looked over HIS curbside shoulder...drifting in the direction
of his sight....certainly that part of the accident is not a bike
    problem....and understandable.

remove the multiple nospam from my address if you have some
    confidential email to send me.......

Thanks in advance for your reply.....

Try posting your message to a NG where users spend their lives debating
    about
    "what if".

Rec.motorcycles.tech is a nuts and bolts group that is about fixing
mechanical and electrical problems. We can't undo tragic reality.

  4. Without a comprehensive set of forensic pictures one can only guess and
guess poorly at that. Even with pictures it is a bit of a guessing game.

Sorry for you loss but without any evidence, it is hard to determined what
    happened.
