was looking at a VTR1000 Honda this AM. was wondering how they compare
with the similar V Twin 1000 Suzuki.
    Anyone care to comment ?

Which one ? The TL or the SV ? TL is the same age and is very similar,
has slightly dodgy rearshock which is usually (supposedly) only an issue
if you give it a really hard time. Similar weight, similar
reliability. VTR tank is too small (15L ?) given how thirsty it is.

They still make the VTR. SV, in retrospect, was a pearl of a bike.

Girl's bikes, both of them! Isn't it time you grew up and bought
    yourself a Real Man's Bike?

Sorry ? You've lost me. The ahem implies I've been unfairly pejorative
to SV, when in fact I said it was better than the TL and VTR (and a
    good bike)

nah, the bit I was responding to was justAL's comment that SV, in
retrospect, was a pearl of a bike. I was making the point that it
    STILL IS! ;-)

I'm always worried that I'll bugger up the attributions, so I probably
don't snip things the way I ought to. Mea culpa...

Sheesh, you blokes are sensitive petals sometimes! ;-)

I'd buy a TL-R over a VTR any day, TLS vs VTR pretty much lineball
