As per subject, it's for a 6v UK model with an on/off ignition key switch
and three position light switch ( off/side/headlight) mounted on the lh
headlamp bracket, no indicators or high beam indicator, and a dip/high beam
switch on the lh handlebar. All the diagrams I have managed to find so far
are all for different types with different combinations of switches. I would
be most grateful if anyone has one of which I could have a copy.

I have a problem with the lights, the side and tail light works ok in the
first position, but when I switch the light switch to the second position
the side light and tail lligh go out. I think probably that in this position
there is a different feed from the lighting coil and I want to check it, I
have tested the light switch and dip switch.

  2. It's a C90 wiring system, so look at a C90 diagram.

When I rebuilt my ST70, I didn't have any trouble with the electrics.
Just put the loom in the frame, plugged everything in, and it worked.

    I'll try a C90 diagram then.

  4. My bad. C50/70, though I daresay the wiring is the same. The engine, as
    I'm sure you know, is a C70 lump, itself a bored-ouit C50 lump.

This is a silly question, but when you turn the key to the second
position, and the lights go out, the engine does keep running? If not,
then the second position may simply be 'OFF'.

IIRC, the side light and tail light can be activated without the engine
running, with the switch in 'PARK' position.

No. the engine dosen't stop, the problem is with the light switch, not the
key switch, the key switch only has two positions, - Off and Run, the light
switch has three - off / side / headlamp and none of the lights will
operate if the engine isn't running, I remember that from having one years
ago, I think I have sorted out where to look, when the light switch in in
the third position ( headlight) the supply comes from the coils on a
Brown/Red wire, this dosen't seem to be live so tomorrow I'll check it out.
It was all working fine the other day, but now it's just stopped so it can't
    be anything too serious.

    Thanks for your help.

  6. Er, that is because the head and tail lights run directly off the
flywheel. No engine rotation, no lights.

It's fixed. Broken yellow wire in the loom.

    MOT on Christmas eve?
