Can someone help me I have a 1987 honda mtx 125 I have just replaced
the piston, rings and head gasket but after a short journey water
starts to come out of the over flow tube on the expansion tank. I have
been told that its a sign the head gasket has gone but I have just
replaced it. Also my temp gauge goes strait over to the hot when the
ignition is switched on I have replaced the sender unit and the wire
is not earthing out on the frame any where.

Any help in this matter would be great as it’s starting to do my head
in now it’s a nice bike in good condition and I got it cheap as it was
    a non runner

Probably found out why, then. I used to have one of those, it overheated
    all the time.

IIWY I'd check the head and barrel top for flatness. If it's been
overheated, it might be warped so the gasket can't seal.....

Not sure about the temp gauge.

ISTR it was down in teh water pipes somewhere. The head was basically a
slightly dished piece held on with 6 bolts.
