Honda GB500, easy to find used in the UK?

I saw images and description of it and felt *wants* (specially now that
I know how to kickstart an a-la-XR engine in less than 5 attempts).

Any idea on where to look at and possible prices? Is it considered
shite olde or has it gained the "classic" status?

Alternatively, same questions about the spoked wheel sister XBR 500
    '89.

    Thanks.

  2. The GB500 was never (AFAIK), officially imported into the UK, (only the
XBR500 was), so they're quite a rare bike over here.

Decent XBR500s have started to appreciate if anything, price wise.

Oh... and you won't be needing that kickstart technique, as they've all
    got electric start.

The GBs go for silly money over the XBRs in the UK (320041308304 vs
160044250095, for example). It's apparently easy (and rewarding) to
transplant a 650 Dominator engine into the chassis, although that's
    kick-start only.

    @text.news.blueyonder.co.uk:

eh? I had a 1993 Dominator. It was electric start only. Earlier versions
    had a kickstart too.

Clearly I'm mixing up two different bikes. But anyway:

    Someone mention XBRs?

Forgive the blatant spam, but if anyone happened to be looking for such
    a
bike I am currently selling one on behalf of a fellow newsgroupo member
    who
    has emigrated to Germany.

    Details as follows:

    1989 F Honda XBR500

    Maroon

    40000km if I remember correctly (25000 miles)

    Currently SORN.

Alloy wheels, currently wearing a Micron exhaust but original supplied
    and
    serviceable.

    Includes rare original seat cowl.

Very good condition. This is indeed a decent one.

    Photos at http://www.ianellison.org.uk/Eyreweb/hondas.html

Note that the photos show a damaged indicator but that will be replaced
    before sale.

900GBP ono as it stands, 1000GBP with 12 months MoT.

The photos show an XLR250 Baja which is also for sale, vgc, 1100GBP
    ono, and
a GB500 which is lovely. Oh, and not for sale at this moment in time.
    :)

Drop me a mail at ian (at) ianellison.org.uk for more details.

    Cheers

Sorry, what are those numbers? eBay auctions, I suppose...
Yes, you talk about the Enduro Bike for Real Men, aka XR600 with its
lovely kickstart. Just google for XR and kickstart and you'll find many
    kisckstart procedures described.
    Appreciated.
