    Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help with this problem. The bike starts and
idles fine. When you bring the rpm to 4000ish and hold, the engine
sounds uneven, It does sound like it is running on all cylinders.
We initially suspected unbalanced carbs, but they have been set to
within 10mm(columns of mercury)of each other.
Plug wires are 4.8 to 5.6 ohms, new plugs. The bike 22000 km on it. I
would like to check valve clearences next, but there is not any
audible ticking. One interesting note, the engine runs the same with
the throttle pos. sensor connected/disconnected. What's the special
tool the manual refers to for checking it?
I don't know if this could have an influence, but it has a
    Vance&Hines titanium pipe.
To be honest, I am not 100% convinced there is a problem with the
sound. The owner though is. I guess it could sound smoother, I just
have notheing to compare it against.

    Cheers'
