My old 350LC F2 had a claimed 63 BHP in a frame that was as flexible as
my Visa card. It was an experience to see it being ridden fast down
twisty lanes, as Champ will testify.

  6. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, someone here
And this has *what* to do with the motorcycle MOT?

(Hint: The answer is "**** all")

The computerised bit is the logging of the results. What has that got
to do with the actual brake test?

You don't sow any significant sign of having any idea whatsoever about
    what you're going on about.

Oi, leave that bait alone - it wasn't for you :)
Not much chance of the GN getting warm enough this morning, it's sodding
baltic here. And it turns out she's booked it into the MOT place up in
the hills rather than the one in town - they may be friendlier & less
pernickety but they're also up 4 miles of unclassified (& ungritted)
hill road and it's freezing. This is going to be fun :-(

I've just heard that from 2006 all bikes must be trailered to/from the
MOT station. This is due to a requirement that MOT fails be taken
    immediately off the road.

  10. In uk.rec.motorcycles.classic, The Older Gentleman amazed us all with
    this pearl of wisdom:
I might be way off beam here but I took the mundano in for its MOT
today. It failed but that's not the point.

When I was waiting there was a thing on the wall about emmissions and it
said (IIRC) that vehicles registered before 1971 were by "sight only".

Dunno what that means in the great scheme of things but I thought I'd
    toss that in.

And judging by the dreadful old shitters that posters here seem to
proudly admit to owning, and bearing in mind the obvious fact that very
few of these bikes are ever going to be used again, then perhaps
fitting them with sub standard (but very cheap) parts is not going to
    make a lot of difference!

  16. Yes. Indeed. *Proud*.
All taxed, and all MoT'd, and all used regularly, if (in some cases)
    infrequently.

I cant honestly see HTF something like a CB125 or a GS850 could ever
seriously be seen as a "classic" by anyone other than the sort of anal
retentive anorak, who in four wheel terms would see something like a
Mk4 Cortina as a "classic" also!

Finally I wonder if clever dealers are now labelling this sort of bike
as classics, so they can make good money on bikes, which otherwise
would probably end up being broken for parts?

These bikes are not classics and never will be, and I think that those
that feel they are, perhaps do not have the means to own a proper
    classic machine!

I'm pleased to see my "mark read" filter still works. Don't push me into
