Bastards have just released an aluminium Giro 20, I'm now wondering
about buying a frame and moving all the bits from my steel bike to
    it...

    [hearty applause]
Yep; then they somehow confuse the two and think "If I ride this bike (climb
this mountain / wrestle this boar / solve this equation / overthrow this
country / discover this galaxy / punch this foreigner) I'll GET sex!!".....
.....and that's when the trouble starts!

monowheel trailers that hitch in the normal way are available, eg the
    Unigo. http://www.uni-go.com/

    or even make your own

They won't take as much odd sized crap as my two wheel trailer does,
but the idea of being as narrow as the bike so you can lanesplit the
truly disgusting holiday traffic has a certain appeal!

I'm sure my bank account is going to regret this, but I'm heading down
to Canberra tomorrow to test ride a bent or 3, I won't be able to
afford one for about 3-4 months though.

    Wooohooo!

YOu are lucky - tall enough that you can test ride several. THe Giro
20's the only one that fits me!
