    Hope they do the driver.

At least your better off than the victims of a H&R on the Tingewick bypass.
Local lad taken out and his pillion still in a coma from their meeting with
a local taxi on Sunday morning. Just heard this afternoon that they might
    know who the driver was.

Still, could be worse. At least you'll get everything paid for. Well
    done those witnesses.

If we'd all given up riding as soon as we'd had our first
'incident' or two, where would we be now, eh?

Considerably richer and fitter I expect.

Well, the former obviously, but biking doesn't differ much
financially from many other hobbies if you do them properly.
As for the latter, <fx:touch wood>, I've not had a biking
related injury[1] that's lasted more than a few days.

    [1] Never worse than cuts,grazes and bruises[2]
    [2] <fx:touch wood again>

    Oh, fucking arse.
He really fucking hit you then, the ****. I recall agreeing with
auvache only the other day that the area between traffic lights is the
    "death zone" ...
    That's a result.
I'm certain that RSS are correct here. You'll be covered.

First thing is to sort yourself out, keep wolfing the painkillers as
    required and keep yourself warm.

Let RSS and the InsCos do what they get paid for and keep notes of
what they tell you. When you have to attend hospital, keep notes of
what you are told and all the car park receipts. It will all go
through insurance, so remember to claim for your gear that is damaged
    - like boots, jacket, lid and gloves - a grand is a nice round figure
    for them.

An assessor will want to look at your bike, you want a copy of the
report. Keep an eye on used bike prices so when you get an offer you
know what is acceptable - many first offers are worth having these
days, so don't refuse out of hand as this can delay settlement.

Try to get the police to prosecute the driver - this will look good
when you go to court for your damages. As he did a runner then they
    likely will in any case.

Best of luck and don't go away, OK?

    Eh? Is that a *whoosh*?
I meant I *would* be considerably richer if I hadn't continued
biking. Although many other hobbies could use up an equally
    large amount of dough, too.

Yes, but hit and run is still a very serious offence even if drink driving
    can't be proven.

  17. The ****. Hope they string him up - generally, plod hate bastards who do
that, but it's all down to the CPS and what the judge does.
I sincerely hope the defendant is a cocky bastard the beak takes a
    dislike to.

    Best of luck anyway.

    It's only a bone. :)

****. Quite probably pissed and didn't want a DD charge.

Still, unless the car was stolen, you should see a result.

Now get a really, *really* nasty bastard lawyer.
