Hustler joined the fray in 1966 Actually the T10 came out in 1964 Bridgestone/Yamaha only had smaller capacity bikes at that stage. Kawasaki were all singles in the 60's But I may be wrong Daron

~ Forgot the Bridgestone disc valve twins They were a smidge before my time. Where did they fit in, timeline-wise? Did they predate Kwakka's disc-valve (Avenger and Samurai) parallel twins (and Suzuki's [piston port?] twins (Hustler and whatever the 315 was called)) or were they around at the same time? Clem
'67 / '68 era.. a bit before the Kwakas I think. They went well, although were thirsty and had the japanese noodle frame construction common at the time. Not at all common but I reckon they deserve a mention as they took high performance disc valve two strokes from the race track to the street. There were low pipe and high pipe street scrambler versions... a bit before Suzuki went that route with the 125 stinger and 250 Hustler..
Then I agree with you. Whatever started the amazing family of high-performance, lightweight
Japanese two-stroke road twins deserves
to be recognised! (It's a pity Honda never joined in.... but they
probably would've found a way to kill it
