Anyone know of good motorbike hire places in Northern France? What
(if anything) can I hire on a full UK DRIVING licence + CBT?

    Thanks,

    Alan.

I very much doubt you'd be able to hire anything more than a 49cc
    scooter on a provisional license.

You'll be able to rent bugger all mate, if you want a bike. A scooter
    maybe.

I'm sure Des can tell you the French for "Can you ride a motorcycle?" and
"What is your weekly rate?" as well.

Well, he can't lend him the iR1, since that Greek bloke crashed on it
    before the Olympics.

Years ago SWMBO and I were taking an overnight Newhaven-Dieppe ferry. There
was a gang of white van lads on their first foray into "foreign". They were
ineptly and pissedly trying to chat up a gorgeous BCBG French girl, who was
self-evidently preferring to [try to] read her copy of Marie-Claire.
Eventually, the boldest spotty oik asked her what he should say to a French
girl if "I was like trying to y'know get her into bed like". She fixed him
with a 1000-watt smile and politely replied, "Ah, yes, what you should say
is 'Mademoiselle, je suis tres [1] fatigué et j'ai envie de dormir'".

SWMBO and I still sometimes use this as a 'line'.

[1] Yes, Des, I *know* there's a grave accent there, but it's not as simple
as an acute on an English keyboard and I can't be arsed!

OK, I could guess the BCB part of it, although I'd be wrong in these
circumstances [1], and I haven't read the Times 20-odd years ago.
So what does it stand for and does that knowledge get me laid?

Ta, I once spent two weeks with a family in Neuilly. Weally posh
people, with a huge apartment and one of those cage elevators with
polished wood panels. Nice area. Don't remember how fit the birds
were as it's a long, long time ago.
