    The blokes on bikes generally go past pretty quick. It's the
    "Caravan" that takes it's own sweet time.

    Ahead of the riders there are a couple of hundred cars and truck that
    are basically mobile advertising. Then come the riders, then the
    camera/marshal/official motorbikes, then the team cars and then
    caravan vehicles.

    All in all about 50 miles of road is in use at any one time which mean
    bits are closed for about 4 hours at a time or more.
