Anyone got one on the dipped beam of their bike? How much better are they
than some of the good high intensity bulbs you can get?

I'm doing a bit more night riding lately but I don't want to waste £120!

  2. Don't waste your money. One of the best rides I ever had at night was a
couple of years ago coming home from Brizzle at night when I mistook the
glow from Cardiff a hint of the rising sun and set of across country
towards it to find any old big wide road that had a sign on it that said
London and as it turned out in completely the wrong direction. On
Onebus I think it was, I am sure I took it down that way once. It took
about an hour before I even cared that I was not seeming to find
anything resembling a major road I was having so much fun.

    Same here...

You don't need to spend anything like £120 on HID.

Indeed eBay is your friend. I think the user to look for is Diane Shop
    or something like that

Did you get your kit in the end? If so, what did you think of it?

Why not go for one HID, to get round the startup delay?

Yeah so I shall mail them and ask for a mixed H1-H3 kit. WTF did Ducati fit
different bulbs, most odd and requires the carrying of 2 spares.

I've got HID as dip since I do most of my mileage on motorways so my dip
performance is more important than my mainbeam. Of course, with the
FOAD PIAA spots, mainbeam is better but rather blinding for people
coming in the other direction. Snigger.

Oh ain't they just! Oncoming cars just cannot dip their lights quickly
    enough.

So how is it working?? you have an H4 bulb with an HID dip and a tungsten
    main? sounds odd.

Yeah, HID dip on an H4, utterly shite tungsten main. The alternative is
the ones that shoot the bulb backwards and forwards which are shite IME.
So I settle with the HID Dip and use the PIAAs for blinding purposes.

Hmm perhaps you should try an H4 from Diane Shop on eBay. Muck reports they
    sell decent kit.

So I have a spare RS fairing now. I would like to install an ally plate
replacing the OE headlight and rubber gaiter and have 2 x 4" Hella side by
side with HID bulbs and above them in a triangular pattern one long range
small spot to come on with high beam. Either that or the 2 Hellas or two
projectors stacked vertically and a pair of PIAA 35w dichroics mounted
    elsewhere.

The B12 with twin Cibies proves a lot to be gained having two beams that can
be focussed more widely in the horizontal plane.

I understand someone sells a Ducati style projector headlight which has a
movable shield to set permanent high/dip but I can't find them.
