  2. Yeah, I know. I was afraid they wouldn't bring it!

Although actually it will probably be my girlfriend's next bike, once
she's tired of having teh throttle wide open on the EX250 the whole
    time.

Yet I may replace the VFR with it. Having 90% of the functionality at
100+ lbs less weight would be nice, especially since I may very well
be motorcycle commuting starting in a month or two.

  3. Pah-rase Je-sus! I still can't believe the SV doesn't include a
    centerstand.
Dollars to doughnuts says wingrack immediately, tubular sidecase
holders really soon. Unfortuantly, the UK site is hozed so I can't
see what the current fitment for the Fazer 600 is.
An honest-to-gosh SV beater. No more choosing between ergonomics and
    wind protection.
Not quite. VFR claimed dry weight is 475, so its 50 lbs lighter. And
    $4k lighter on the wallet!

VFR is a ballerina on the road, but a bit of an "elephant in a TuTu"
when paddling around in the parking lot.
I wonder if it actually uses the same size? Probably.
Image? Longer wheelbase means the rear brake is actually good for a
    little bit more than skid-generation?
I think because it costs nothing to get rid of, but they will probably
kill of the 600R really soon, CA exhaust and euro exhaust
    regulations.

  4. The MO preview article and thaht's effectively the price of the
previous gen Fazer 600 in europe (same price as the SV).
Ah, cool. "That stock R6 suspension SUCKS" "Okay, I'll take it from
    you". :)

    [snip]

    I am so pissed.

So at Laguna Seca this year I spent some time talking with
one of the reps at the Yamaha booth. I was sitting on the
FZ-1, and I was discussing everything that I liked about
the bike. However, I mentioned that what I really wanted
was the Fazer 600 ( the euro name ) because I wanted something
a bit lighter, and the FZ1 probably had a bit too much power
for me. A 600cc FZ1 would be perfect.

He looked me in the eye, and said that Yamaha had no plans
to import the Fazer. I said that was a real shame.

So I see the news today, and I find out that he lied to me!
The bastard! What is this world coming to?

    I guess I'll now have to buy a Katana 750. That'll show him.[1]

[1] Not. Time to start a new thread: who is the best Yammie
dealer in the bay area? Or should I just buy from LA Yamaha?

PS... anyone know when the first valve adjustment is on the R6
engine? Is there a 600 miler?

Somewhere around 16-20,000 miles, I believe.

I think the interval for the R6 is 26,000 miles. I just was wondering
if there was an initial check...for some reason I recall seeing
someone saying that there might have been one at 4,000 miles.

Anyone out there with an R6 who can confirm?
