Here's a pointless question...

  1. That's got to be easier than riding at 826mph

If you set off from Ramsgate sometime after dawn, and rode to Cornwall
before dusk you'd have a couple of minutes more daylight than someone who
    stayed in one place.

Just go to Multimap and get the longitude of both places. There are 360
degrees in 24 hours as pointed out above: it really is trivial.

Alternatively, there are various web-sites that will give you sunrise and
    sunset times for any location.

Well, it won't necessarily work like that, as the 395 miles was planned
by Autoroute to involve the M2, M25, M4 etc. But that would be the rough
    ball-park.

Of course, the 826mph only applies if you want to watchc the sun set in
Broadstairs and then chase it towards Lands End. If you watch the sun
rise in Broadstairs, you could then bimble down to Cornwall and get your
extra 28 minutes 41 seconds at sunset.

Ignoring the direction error as that's been picked up by others.

The easiest way to avoid the maths would be to look up the time of sunset
at Ramsgate, and then at Land End. Subtract one from tother, and you have
    your difference.

Subtract Ramsgate sunrise from Lands End sunset, and you have the time
required to ride from one to the other, divide by distance to get
    necessary speed.

    Sod all that longitude stuff.
