    Hi,
My name is Nick, and I'm a lurker,

so thats that off my chest.

I thought i'd phone Fowlers, Bristol for help, them being a reasonably local
    main dealer,
should have known better I spose

    can you help me please
I have got a GS 1000 but because it is semi customed I dunno what model it
is and I need some bits,

    Ok its a yank import
    Registered here 1980 on a V plate
it has got one of those clutch in for ignition switches
    permanent lights
left hand handlebar switch does main/dip and indicators and horn
right hand does kill/run and start

yes I do have the frame and engine numbers
Does anybody know of a site/Dealer/Individual that could help me

    many thanx in anticipation
    nick

  4. Well, if you gave Fowlers the minimal info you gave here, no wonder they
    couldn't help.
    What bits do you need??????

The GS Thou was a popular bike and there aren't too many differences
    between US and UK models.

the merkins ride on the right though don't they? Wouldn't one of their
GS's need the camber bearings changing? Or weren't they fitted to that
    model?

First port of call is the Suzuki owners club. That is assuming it is
    indeed a Suzuki.
Anyways, top bunch of folk. Give them a try. If you need a fair few
parts, it is worth joining the owners club for the discounts some places
    will offer.

Try their forum as well. Scan Yahoo groups for a group related to your bike.

    HTH etc

I'm not really daft, honest, but there is no info as to model on any
paperwork I have and the bloke I bought it from has moved to Spain.
I recon its an E of some description but I don't wanna spend and find that
    stuff will not fit

  18. Oh, dear me, no. Call yourself a lurker? You really haven't been
paying attention, have you? Don't do it again, there's a good lad. If
you have to ask to what I refer, then you will deserve the response it
    garners.
