Yes, I know - not the most sexy of bikes, but my neighbour has one[1]
for commuting, and I offered my help to fix the sidestand. Which suffer
the loss of the proper spring(s?).

The problem is that he ordered and got two springs from a local Yam
dealer, which allegedly should be the ones for his bike. I was unable to
fit them is a sensible way. On the sidestand, there is a stud facing
offside approx. an inch from the tip.

Anyone with (previous) experience with this model, and able to comment
on how the return springs of the sidestand should look?

    TIA

Thanks - that's what I had assumed, from the stand design of my previous
    bike.
