Help with de-restricting a Suzuki TS50X

    Let me say straight off that this post is more suited to UK users, as the
    problem I am asking for help on is, I believe, only applicable to the UK.
    This might help some of you wasting your time reading through it.

    I bought this second-hand Suzuki TS50X for commuting and fun about 9 months
    ago. The price was such that I couldn't afford not to get it! It is great
    fun to ride (but see below) and would not want to get rid of it.

    However, I have to say that Suzuki has done a brilliant job with the
    de-restricting, as required by UK law - it gets to EXACTLY 30mph and then
    just stays there, unless you then ask it to go up an incline!

    Now, whilst I am all in favour of restricting these youngsters to a sensible
    mph, I think that it can sometimes be outright dangerous to only be able to
    do 30 mph. There are often times when one needs to accelerate to get out of
    a situation.

    This brings me to my main point and the purpose of this plea for help.

    As a rider who can legally ride a larger bike and, therefore, travel at more
    than 30mph, can anyone tell me the best way to de-restrict this particular
    model? Or at least get some more oomph out of it?

    Any help and suggestions would be gratefully received.

    You can get a 96cc kit for the older TS50, so maybe you could get one for yours.I fitted a piston in
    one a couple of months ago for my brother-in-law's son's off-roader.I'm afraid I don't know where to
    get the kit I just bought the piston from my local bike shop.They do go quite well with the 96 kit
    but you might have to adjust the gearing and maybe fit a larger carb or jets.
