Help - no brake pressure

Hopefully someone can give me a steer on what to do next because I'm
completely stumped. My son's scooter (a speedfight 2) just failed its
MOT because of a sticking front brake.

So I removed the caliper, pushed the piston back in & remounted it.
Squeezed the lever, no pressure. Normal enough. Kept squeezing, still no
pressure. Zip, zilch, nothing. Now not normal. Bled the brakes, still no
pressure. Surely there should be some, even if the pistons seized.

I then removed the hose from the caliper, disassembled it, cleaned the
piston (its certainly not moving freely), reassembled, replaced and
refilled, bled and bled again. STILL no pressure. When I open the bleed
nipple and squeeze the lever clear fluid - no bubbles - comes out
(remembering to close the nipple before releasing the lever).

Currently its left overnight with the lever tied to the bar but I'm
beginning to think the problem is at the lever end.

Any thought and advice great fully received.

And yes its a crap way to spend a Saturday evening but he needs it on
Monday and I have to work tomorrow.

    TIA,

    C

  3. Master cylinder seals. Sod's Law it happens when you're attending to the
other end, but they have a habit of going south when the full stroke of
bleeding is applied. Better that, than on the road.

Exactly, my first PTW was a 25cc Mobylette Moped, then came the 125 LD
scooter but now I have grown up.

But it doesn't have to be at a scooter. There are other options
    available.
I hang around because people like him make cunts like you get all
shouty and it makes me laugh when I have to get up early in the
    morning.

Funnily enough, on the way to work Friday, I drew up alongside a bloke
on a bike exactly like my first machine. Even the same colour. An old
1970s Puch Maxi S, the S donating the fact that it had rear suspension
instead of a rigid back end.

The Older Gentleman () gurgled happily,
sounding much like they were saying :
    From you... of all people...

    DENOTING, not donating...

Unless, of course, the suspension HAD been donated?

  11. It's sad, isn't it, when the brainfarts start to creep in. Before you
know it, the prose will be sprinkled with Malapropisms enough to keep an
entire batallion of East End chorus boys in lines. The once flawlessly
erudite expressions of life will be torn aside, nay, cast asunder like
so many drunken matelots out on the town.

Oh woe... how are the mighty fallen.
