I may be being thick but couldn't you put it in gear, with the engine
off, pull the clutch lever in, and if you can roll it forwards then
the clutch isn't sticking. If you can't then it's engaged still.

Clutch plates sticking together and failing to release.

Start it in second gear down a bit of a hill and with the clutch lever
pulled try accelerating/ slowing quickly on the throttle, it should
    free itself.

With the bike on the mainstand and the front wheel butted against a wall,
start the bike in first gear. Give it some wellie on the throttle with the
clutch lever pulled back and stomp on the rear brake. Won't hurt anything
and has worked for me in the past.

  5. Mine always sticks if I leave it stood for a couple of weeks. I just
start it in first with the clutch pulled in and the brake on. Am I
    buggering it up?

  6. Good news

Clutch is unstuck, combination of methods. Would it do any harm to leave
clutch lever tied back, or is there a better method of ensuring this doesn't
happen again? Doesn't look like its going anywhere for a few weeks.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies.
