Going to the TT on Saturday, got a video camera sorted and was under the
impression we also had a tank mount for it. It now seems that is not the
    case.
Does anyone have one I can beg, borrow, steal or buy. If anyone knows of a
supplier of these contraptions that would also be very helpful as time is of
    the essence

  2. I've got one of these if it can be adapted. The suction cap in the
    middle is useful.

I don't see any way that tripod could be mounted in a robust enough
    manner on a bike.

I think that RAM may do a camera mount. I use one of their mounts to
stick my GPS onto my tank(s).

Probably won't be of much interest but when I had my GSX-R750Y I removed the
fixing plate off the bottom of the pillion seat cowling and bolted it to a
piece of shaped board which I had cut slits in to take lengths of velcro
used to hold the camera, pointing backwards, in place. It locked into the
bike firmly and was simple to fit & remove. Video footage was good too,
ISTR - although I think it's better not to set the focal length too wide or
your subjects will have to get *very* close to your tail to fill the frame.

The main advantage of shooting backwards, of course, being that you'll never
incriminate your mates as their number-plates won't be captured.

Thanks for the suggestion... I was looking for a more specifically bike
    oriented mount

Have got a suction cup RAM mount for my gps but they suffer too much from
vibration to get a steady picture, but thanks anyway.

It suggests that you use a bungee over the mount to secure it, this sounds
reasonably secure to me and it means it can be chucked from bike to bike
    without lots of messing.

I've got the same type and no, they're not strong enough - at least not
for a chunky old Hi8. A couple of bungees sorts it though.

That sounds like a well handy bit of kit. Does the harddrive cope with
    bumps ok?
