yeah, so, some Mercs have superchargers. Set that against all the
Saabs, Suburus, Mitsubishis etc etc, not to mention that practically
every big truck has a turbo.

hah - you had to go and bring Diesels into it, didn't you? I reckon
that disqualifies you from this argument. The turbocharger was
invented for use on diesel engines.

Anyway, I've never really lusted after any turbo vehicle (though I did
own one) but I still really, really, want a Lancia Volumex...

Really? My Saab has more low rev grunt than any 2 litre car has a
right to. Max torque of around 210 lb-ft at 1800 rpm.

    Volumex is supercharged, isn't it?

yes, that was the point I was making. I should point out I'm
refererring to the Lancia Coupe VX 2000 Volumex, rather than the gash
    Beta Volumex.

The new Lancia Fulvia Coupe is pretty horny too, actually.

err, they're all Betas, sort of, I meant I like the one with the boot
rather than the one that looks like a racing hearse.

Then your sub should be sacked.
Don't recall the difference offhand, but I have driven a Volumex around
    Brooklands.
New Fulvia? I like the old ones, so...

I mean I like the one with the boot, rather than the supercharged Beta
    hatchback.

IMO all the Betas are a bit gash. Now if they did the Montecarlo with the
    Volumex motor in...

Ah. I drove a racing hearse. Wicked. Even though the clutch was
    fucked.
