Hi Guys .. you gotta help me out here. Im in the process of getting
    something sensible like a gsx750f, or a bandit, maybe a viffer750 -
all for around th 5-7K mark (i kow this is the longest bloody purchase
in history - dam those bills)

But then i see a 02 duc 750s with 17000 on the clock for 10K and im
having very lustfull thoughts about it. Hmmmm that sound ... Hmmmm
    (homer dribble)

Someone talk me out of it before i go off and spend much more than i
    should... Must resist!!!

    Cheers

You can't afford the maintenance on a Duke. Even children are cheaper
    to maintain.

make sure you can ride it, i trieed a 2000 900ss and found it to be one of
the most confortable bikes ive ever sat on, the handlebars were way too low,
the footpegs to high and that figgen tank stuck in my gut - prolly doesnt
help being a fat bastard ;-)

buy a trx850 instead ;-) - same sound, better reliabilty

my 96 900ss was fun tho - you could pick up a nice one of those for $10g

I didn't have any children till the mid-sixties. In fact, the first
one is turning 40 next month. :)
Do Bentleys cost _that_ much to run?

Perish the thought that you might ever get on an uncomfortable bike then.

    Hey Emu,

How's it going maaate? That sound will haunt you wherever you go if you buy
something else. We put 20,000 kms on my Duc without a hitch in the world
and the smile was fixed to my face every moment I rode it. There is some
special ingredient in that sound that gets to you.

So go with your heart - and it will probably out-handle the other bikes too.

    Cheers,

better than the UJC (Unversal Jap Car)

  20. Motorcycles and motorcycling is all about Passion.

If you can afford to, you buy a motorcycle because of the way it makes you
    feel.
I own four bikes at present , each one's different , all are special.
3 are from Europe 1 is from Japan
    1 is Dirty , 1 is a Tourer , 1 is a classic and 1 a modern Sports bike
2 are Ducatis and while there not the cheapest or the most reliable they
make me feel so good ,either when I arrive at the local Cafe or when I'm
    riding the mountain alone
Ducati do make lemons on occasion , but thats just to keep the loosers from
    staying in the click

Just do it , if it doesen't work out , sell her.

You'll be richer for the experiance.
