    If you're local (nudge)

If not... enjoy the pictures of the shirt, and btw, here's a link to
    pictures
of the 2005 Infineon Dodge Save Mart 350 NASCAR Nextel Cup F1
sidecar race... (the F1 rig I purchased in December won the race)

DawgPound Racing, which is made up of our very own
James Cornell from Helimot European Accessories (leathers),
and Doug Dano of Mission Motorcycles are packing up and
making the trip to the Isle of Man to compete in the TT race
    this year.

    "Why is this important, Mike?"

Because an American F1 sidecar team has never finished a race at the
    Isle of Man.

Americans as individuals have finished the race either driving a
rig, or riding as a passenger, with a team member of another
country of origin on board... But a true American team has never
    had this honor.

"So what makes them think they have a chance?"

For the 2005 season Doug and James finished First on the
West Coast, and Third in the Nation overall. I am fairly
confident they stand a fighting chance of not only finishing the
race, but kicking some ass as well. And if they race this year,
they qualify to race next year... 2007, the 100 year annniversary
of the Isle of Man TT races.

"So get to the point already..."

They're selling nifty 'supporter' t-shirts to help them with the cost
of boxing everything up and flying over there. I bought mine
today... They're 20 bucks each, and all proceeds go to helping
Doug and James kick ass at the IOM TT races.

If you're at all interested in helping them out, you can pick up a
shirt from either the SFMC Clubhouse, Mission Motorcycles (ask
for Doug), or Helimot Leathers (ask for James).

And of course... the info for buying a shirt online.

Thanks for any support, at at a minimum, root for Doug and James when
the IOM is on TV in a couple months.

Thanks for the heads-up. I would be nice to see a hack team do well
overseas. We've never really excelled in that event. I don't think
I've ever seen an American moto-cross hack team like the Europeans who
pull it off with such amazing elan. Now, that's some scary stuff!

I'm really impressed with the advances in road hack streamlining. A
major jump from the old bubbleshielded junglegym Rensports I last saw
battling it out at Laguna Seca, decades ago. These new slippery hacks
look like there's not much of anything for the monkey to hang onto.
    That's even scarier.

    i'll be sporting my t-shirt soon. :)

best of luck! i rode around the track a few times when i still lived over in
europe during the "open day" (*NOT* racing), and have deep admiration for
anyone that truly whacks the throttle open for sustained portions of that
circuit. yikes. it's beautiful, though, and the event is insane amounts of
    fun.

You mean like my restored 1968 RGM Triumph street-hack?

There is -just- enough. Here's a shot of the back of our CSR.

Just enough bars and handholds in just the right spots to allow you to
    flop and
scootch around at high speeds without falling off. The rule is never
    let go with
    both hands... ever.

There ya' go. I didn't realize you've been down this road before.
Yeah, I was noticing that on the pit pic of the pretty lady wrapped
around the rear fender of the red hack. One itty bitty handle half
hidden within the right hand fairing. Yikes! Don't miss. Looks like
the rider in the red/blk leathers playing pedestrian in the middle of
the track did just that. Ouch!

I'll never forget watching a MotoGP in the mid 80s, in the days when they
still had sidecars racing along with the bikes, and they were fun. The names
Biland and Webster meant something to every motorcyclist. :) In any case,
I'll never forget watching a race on Eurosport with a couple of very cool
and laid-beack British commentators. A sidecar comes from a turn dragging
one guy precariously handing on with one hand at very high speed. The
comment was to the point "... I reckon this has to be slowing them down a
little... hm... yes indeed ..." The guy made it back.

I'll also never forget Webster's crash into a ditch in Assen...

Yep, and I'll post the flyer at work and about.
    ----
On a side note, watch your jetting. Even Bay Area bikes
tend to run lean in the cold damp air, so the Americans
have a history of melting / seizing engines. Even Goliath
(Vance Breeze's HD) seized during practice at the Isle of
Mann and that engine had been as reliable as dirt on the
street, on road courses, and at Bonneville.

I'm sure that you are all aware that James Cornell, co-founder and long
time member of the Vampires MC, has been racing sidecar rigs across the
United States and Canada over the past several years.

James and his driver, Doug Dano, are the 2005 Champions in the Sidecar
Racers Association-West and have planned to take these expert skills to
the Isle of Man TT in an attempt to be the first American sidecar team
    to complete this grueling course.

Please join them this Saturday, April 15th at the SFMC Clubhouse in San
Francisco for a benefit to help support their efforts to make it to the
Isle of Man, finish this race and pre-qualify for the momentous event
that will take place in 2007, as the Isle of Man TT celebrates 100
years of the most dangerous, ball-breaking race in history!

    When: Saturday, April 15th
Where: SFMC Clubhouse 2194 Folsom St SF
    Time: 8pm-?

Donations appreciated! Supporter shirts will also be available and are
$20.00 each. Come enjoy local music acts, shotgun a Red Bull and
    support your fellow motorcyclist!

Sorry for the canned promotional email, but I didn't want to re-type
    the whole thing! :)
