On a purely personal level, I would have been tempted to add 'verbose,'
prior to asshole. But then I know how post editing can be frowned upon.

All of the above just confirm my earlier statement that the smaller
classes act as feeders for the premier class.

    Holy Cow, Mark.

"my language is a bit more earthy than yours"? That's quite an
    understatement.

"bit I also never said, "No, Carl you're wrong", did I?" Not in so many
words. But that's where the problem lies. Do you view being told or saying
someone is wrong is a statement of personal abuse, attack, or belittlement?
    It shouldn't be.
Before you decide this is a personal attack, remember we (ok, I) am not
declaring you to be "the asshole here", nor am I ranking you as an asshole,
nor am I claiming that I am not an asshole. That said, if being an (not THE)
asshole here can be defined partially as "spewing out personal abuse,
attacks and belittlement", then you should be able to recognize the answer
    to your question.

I'd marked this thread as read when I saw the subject but buy sheer
fluke the last three posts got though.

I'm so very glad they did because in just three posts, I've had a nice
    laugh.

Why are you bringing our National Treasure into this?

  9. Are you saying my use of BFD was a statement of personal abuse, attack, or
    belittlement?

If you want to continue to discuss the Losail race or Losail race thread,
then reinitiate the Losail race thread. This is a different issue.

What do you think is the answer to your question?

You say the bikes are developed for a 250 style but how does that work
when Honda have got an ex-superbike rider doing the development for
them this year? I doubt if he'll be doing it next year and I also have
serious doubts that he'll be a works rider next year if he doesn't win
    the title this time out.

Honda aren't exactly World renowned for being patient with riders and
by the end of this season Hayden will have had a good crack at being a
works rider so a title or a very close run attempt at it is the least
they'll expect. That doesn't mean he won't get a decent ride somewhere
else but I really do think he's got to do it at Repsol this year or
    move onward.

Also consider the number of younger riders rapidly appearing on the
scene and you'll have to admit that they've got a lot of other
options. Casey Stoner is proving to be something of a revelation in
the early part of the season, Marco Melandri has proved he can win on
a Honda and they've already got Pedrosa.

Shit, it's those nuisance 250 riders again...

In my original reply I said win or a close run attempt so I agree that
if he manages to achieve those targets he'll be retained - if he wants
    to be.

Stoner is already on a Honda and there's talk that Yamaha want him so
it'd be in Honda's interests to offer him a works ride rather than
risk losing him. I can see him winning at least one race this year if
he keeps up his good form and if Nicky Hayden doesn't manage to win
away from Laguna Seca he'll be on very dodgy ground.
