Help! 1984 Honda V30 Magna

    Hard water? The service station attendant hoses down around the
    pumps,water gets into the tanks that way, and somebody probably washed
    your motorbike with a hose a time or two...

    I'm thinking it was metal oxides from the reaction of water with the
    metal parts of the carb. Especially the brass of the float valve, the
    float hinge, and the float hinge pin, as I noticed that the functions of
    those parts were affected.
