Helmets

Hi

I'm after a new helmet (ideally less than £150) - any advice (or websites
with reviews), preferably a quiet one and black (of course)

Go home and order one cheaper online.
OR
Go to BMF show in a couple of weeks and get very cheap lid )

How do I know it will be quiet though?

I've never owned a quiet lid. I have an Arai Quantum-f at the moment and
even totally shut I still get a howling gale around my ears.[1]

Then you might be a Shoei head. I dunno.

[1] Can't bear earplugs.

 

I would say your pretty fooked there! I also never owned a quiet lid. But
now I have some custom molded earplugs with tiny speakers(like micro
responders or summat) in them, so I listen to tunes all the time!

One of the only ways I think you can reduced wind noise is with those naf
helmet aftermarket 'skirts' you 'install' at the base of the helmet!?

I also never owned a quiet lid.

My last lid was a Shoei and it was as quiet as a mouse, but it got
accidentally(?) chucked when my wife and I split.

You're lucky - I hated that bike, but at the time it was all I could afford!
