yeah, it damned near feels like that. When I walk, I can feel all
those muscles and tendons moving back and forth and on top of one
another. It's kind of strange, kind of uncomfortable, kind of
    painful.

I am not sure, but I don't think that the folks buying the Harley's
are balking at the price of the helmet so much as the helmet or jacket
    itself.

Cruisers, in general, are more about form than function and that tends
to extend to the riders as well. Again, that's a pretty sweeping
generalization as we know damned good and well there are riders out
there that don't get pigeon holed into this category.

It's just as sweeping and accurate to say that most squids on sport
bikes are dangerous because of their lack of skills and they way they
    ride their bikes.

I agree with Bill. Let's not rag on Indian Larry for doing what he
did. The guy was an iconic legend in the motorcycling world that gave
    a lot to the hobby.

Let's state the facts, but let's not rub it in and disrespect him,
    either.

That's also why, for you helmeted riders out there, if you do have an
impact to your helmet you should consider replacing it quickly as that
material is a one-time-use type of material.

Does that satisfy a Sarbanes-Oxley implementation?

My number was close, this past Saturday.. I've only laid down a bike twice
before, to avoid bad scenes.. I'd never laid one down on the right side
until Saturday.. Now.. I have to say that I've laid a bike down three
times.. All three times, there was minimal damage to the bike.. This time ..
not a scratch..either on the bike nor me..

In these many years and miles, that's pretty good.. I don't count all the
escape routes that I've run.. There is too many.. No one has a license to
be involved in a wreck.. No one has a license.. not to.. Reactions can very
well make the difference in whether you live or die..Additional protection
should be a matter of choice and not mandated..

Risks are taken in every aspect of our lives, whether we ride a motorcycle
or not.. I've lived a long time and expect to live a lot longer.. I insist
on the right to do it my way.. I've never tried to discourage you or anyone
else from wearing your helmet or whatever gear you are comfortable with.. I
take offense when someone accuses me of being stupid or other idiotic
descriptive adjectives for my choice.. IT AIN'T NONE OF YOUR FREAKIN'
    business..

As long as I am legal and within the law, I will wear what I am comfortable
with.. I've developed a fair amount of handling skills that has served me
well enough to survive all these years.. If it ain't broke .. don't fix it..

Full face helmets smother me.. I don't like that feeling when I wear one..
Open face helmets are ok, but I just don't like them cupped over my head and
ears.. The pleasure of riding my motorcycle in open road is wonderful.. I
will continue to utilize my survival skills and hopefully will manage to
stay out there with all you kids for a while longer..

Till then.. all you guys wanna wear that stuff.. go for it.. Leave me out of
it and don't dare try to force me to comply.. and don't insult me for my
    opposition ..

Well I am glad that you are still here with us. Besides, you are too
freaking ornery to die, yet. You have to at least go through the
"mean" stage - you know, too mean to die?

    I completely agree!

  12. No shit, sherlock. What part of 'Saw the day before' don't you
understand? I'm only a few hour's ride from Concord, NC and was only
one of thousands of bikers to watch the festivities on Saturday,
including his arrival with TDC filming. He rode a bike with a unique
leather tank cover that looked like alligator scales.

He and others in the group were doing stunts on a big cement pad
    behind one of the buildings.

Based on what I saw him do, he could have been wearing a helmet
outside the helmet and it still would have killed him.

In my opinion, people killing themselves by pulling stupid stunts
whether it's for show like Liquid Steel or on a rice-rocket doing a
wheelie down the interstate die from STUPIDITY, not from the lack of a
    helmet.
