Helmets for glasses wearers

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Elric of Melnibone, Imryrr, May 10, 2005.

  1. I've got an OGK FF3 which is nearly 5 years old and has been a great
helmet, however some of the plastic on the "aeroblade" section is
broken off, and the inner padding etc is a bit minging and tatty now.

So, I was thinking of buying a new helmet, but one of the reasons I
liked the FF3 was I could easily get my glasses on as the padding had a
nicely placed gap which the legs slid through (the glasses legs not
    mine).

Can anyone recommend a good helmet which accomodates the wearers of
    glasses.

    TIA

As a new convert, I can throughly recommend the Nitro F317-V. It's a flip
front, so glasses aren't a problem.

Is it me, or did anyone else parse that as 'Shirt lifter'?

Caberg J1S, if you find like I did that the Justisimo doesn't fit.

    - front open or closer.

    Elric?

    Shouldn't you be riding dragons?

Anyway, I don't remember there being anything wrong with your eyesight.

I've got three styles of frames:

    Standard prescription glasses & sunglasses
    Police sunglasses
    Oakley sunglasses

I can't get any to fit in my SyMax because of the fit of the helmet.
Although, while reading reviews of the SyMax online, it appears that
loads of other people can wear glasses on it.

    Heads are funny things.

  14. Dragons? You ain't seen my bike or my girlfriend :)

And if you remember correctly, Elric needed to take various drugs to
maintain his metabolism, deprived of his drugs his eyesight was nly one
of the things which faded. :)

You can still buy new FF3s if you want another. They are being heavily
discounted in a lot of shops that have them.

    Glasses aren't the solution, then.

Throw them away, I tell you, get on the drugs and ride.

    Every helmet I've ever worn.

What kind of ham-fisted cretin can't put specs on while wearing a lid?

    Then you've been lucky.

I *could not* get glasses on with a Syuomi Gunwind: they just wouldn't
go past the padding. The Lazer I had before was fine, though.

The AGV I had would let them in, but held them at a funny angle.

    My HJC was fine.

The Carberg I have now is fine.

Roof was very good, but too expensive.

You'd think, given the number of glasses wearers, that the
manufacturers would be more careful to ensure that glasses can be put
    on.

  19. TBH I am tempted to get another FF3, but thought I'd ask around first.

  20. When I got the helmet I spent about an hour in the shop trying on
everything from Arai and AGV downwards and only the FF3 allowed the
    specs to fit comfortably.
