Shoei Multitec - expensive - but the best helmet I have ever owned - I
    love mine.
Good fit, solid construction, venting for hot Texas summer is just OK
but the whole front of th helmet locks up and let's you get a 3/4 hlmet
breeze any time you want and at any speed without vibrating like opening
the vior will do. It will be a lot cooler than the one you have now - I
    have one of them also.

Nice comments. David, we wish you would talk a little more on here.
Let us know a little bit about your self, atleast what region of Texas
    you reside.
    and....what cha' ride. over? bjay.

Sometime over the summer, I'm thinkin' about gettin' a new helmet.
Currently, I have a Shoei RF800, that looks a lot like this one, only
    solid white:
    http://www.motorcyclestop.com/shoei_scepter_tc4.jpg
So, I was interested in any casual helmet comments that anyone cared to
offer, regarding what they're wearing, how well it's liked, etc....
I plan to stay with a full face design, but would like to hear any
experiences with the new flip up chin piece models.
    TIA, for your opinions.

No.... I haven't bought anything yet, but whatever I do
decide to buy, it must be in a local inventory(i.e. no int-
    ernet sales, because of fitting).

But when I find one I want(including your Nolan recom-
    mendation) I'll let you know.

    Thanks.

I do think the recommendation is to replace a helmet
that's been bumped, significantly. I guess the major issue
is in determining what constitutes "significant".

    Years ago(probably near 30), I had stopped at a Jack-in-
the-Box for something to eat. I was riding one of those
Kawasaki two stroke triples. I removed my 3/4 helmet,
and hung it on a mirror. For whatever reason, the helmet
toppled off the mirror and onto the asphalt, about 3 feet
below. When it hit the ground it made a very hollow
sound. I picked up the helmet, and it had split right down
    the middle, longitudinally.

I'd say - pretty skimpy protection.

W' hail yes, I'd say sure 'nuff, 30 years ago. Crap, those old helmets
were about as good as a FB helmet, in fact they sorta reminded me of a
FB Helmet, didnt they to you??? <g>

I only want a white helmet, and I don't think they make
white GoldWings. But, let me go check, wait a minute...

    OK, I'm back....

No, I was wrong. Honda has a Pearl White GoldWing.

Well hell, I guess it's gonna' have to be a package deal
    then. <g>

Wait a minute, let me clarify that....

For some reason, Honda has the site reflecting '08
model GW's, as well as '07. It's the '08 model that
    offers white.

Specifically, the '07 colors were: Black, Silver, Orange,
Red, and Blue. The '08 colors are: Black, Titanium(aka
    Silver), White, Red, and Red.

Beyond the colors, I wonder what the difference(es)
are between the '07 and '08?

Maybe Honda's been reading tx.moto, and caught on
to all my whining about the head wiggle. Maybe, they
rushed out the '08 with the wiggle removed!

The supreme irony of life is that hardly
anyone gets out of it alive.

    --Brian, the Bird Biker says:

Gary--''Oh, and getting excited and dropping your motorcycle is just a
sideline issue....just ask the =other resident= 'motorcycle dropper'
    of this group!

But, by the way he tells it, he "kicked his motorcycle over". I guess in
some haste to whoop up on some 70+ year old man with a mean $20,000
"bitch slap".....even though after he "kicked his motorcycle over", he
took off trying to run in the opposite direction.

He wouldn't even ride that banged up shithead motorcycle back up the
road until a bunch of others got in front....mostly the preacher dude.
This was so the preacher dude could pray some more to keep the pussies
    behind him safe, I guess.

    ----Ol Bowie county
    (with an observation, says:)

--Well, Brian you're =trying= to get something interesting going here
with your reminiscence of the old Breckenridge summer saga, of 2003. <g>

Even though it is, actually on topic, to an extent, and casually fits
right in on Gary's Thread topic about Helmets.

I do these same thangs all the time.
    (you know I do do)

Someone, needs to stur up, this group, while the main two renegade,
highjacking trouble makers, are out west.

However; I'm not sure who the other ''Bike Dropper'' is on our great
gallent group of gabblers, here, other than gary????
    (teasing ya', Gary)

    You said ''resident motorcycle dropper''?
Brian, the resident reference, caused me to ruminate, or, let me say, it
    somewhat threw me. (chuckle)
