I've got the Condor (Plain Black) and found it to be the comfiest helmet
yet. It beats the KBC VR1 and various AGV's I've had. I particularly like
the amount of room they give around the ears, although this tends to make
the lid noisier it's nothing earplugs can't sort.

Nomatter which motorcycle shoppe I enter and ask about getting a
tinted visor (any would do!) they all say that they don't have any. I
    don't even mention it's a HJC.

Am I asking the wrong way?

Me: Hello good sir, I would like to purchase a new visor for my
    helmet.
Them: WE. DO. NOT. HAVE. ANY. WE. CAN'T. EVEN. GET. THEM. FROM. THE.
    REPS.

And that's from three of my locals.

In your experience, the "light tint" which I assume are the only legal
    ones, worth bothering with?

See the thread I started last week, 'Tinted visor questions'.

    Nick says...
Nope. You pretty much won't be able to legally buy a non-approved
tinted visor over the counter in this country. 99% of bike dealers
aren't prepared to risk the fines.
I'm a rep for the biggest helmet company in Europe and I can't sell
tinted or any other non-approved visor to anyone on the UK mainland.

All our tinted visors are distributed by www.thevisorshop.com in Norn
Iron, where they have different laws regarding visors and other vehicle
    related things.

Not really, you may as well stick to a clear one.

Thought so. Skimming over the thread from last week it would appear
that the legal tint is so light that one should just go all the way
for an "illegal" but reasonable tint.

It'll be on my shopping list.

I wasn't look for anything illegal, just something a bit darker than a
    clear one.
I've had a look and it appears to have loads of decent stuff. It's
just a shame I can't find many photos of visors for the HJC Sy-Max.
Well, there are ones there, but it would be interesting to see a DARK
    tint vs a blue iridium.

In all honesty, do the police actually care that much about visors?

Personally, I'd rather be able to see than be blinded by the sun.

Blue Iridium looks fucking hom, go for the dark tint.
Not by all accounts. When I was at Hein Gericke, coppers were the
people who asked for tinted visors the most.

Not the last time I tried to get one. They seem to be bloody hard to
    get in the UK.

The Quantum F was replaced by the Astro J. I got a nice plain black Astro J
for £230 at the NEC in November.

I took my dark visor for it's first outing yesterday. On the way home
from work I pulled up at a set of lights to see 4 bike coppers waiting
to come my way. Two nodded as they passed and the other 2 ignored me
    completely.

    Hom = bad, I imagine?

I've ordered the dark tint and the cleaner they suggest, which should
    hopefully arrive within 24 hours.
