I would only buy mail order if I could ry one on for size 1st.
I wonder if it is worth waiting for the Stafford Show and seeing if any
turn up there on trade stands.

Might be right then. They are (apparently) made exclusively for J&S.
Althoguh I suspect they might be made under different brand names
    elsewhere.

Is sir referring to the R-05 "Boxer"? In which case I agree, however, the
R-010 "Diversion", particularly the LeMans in Black with white stripes, I do not agree...
    ;-p
Yes, Oulton. He must have hot his head, somewhere...?

    Me neither.

    Once adjusted, stays adjusted.
Click to secure, click to undo - even with Pathans on.
Doesn't trap reallyreally painful bits of beard (under the chin where
    it really fucking hurts).
No manual dexterity required to fasten.

    No downside at all, afaict.

    LOL

Funny you should mention that. Personally I shall wait until NEC or
    Ally Pally

Roof diversion or Uvex Wing RS are favourites. I'd be interested to
see if the Wing really does not mist up. Bear in mind that I was
misting up my Revolution on the way in this morning.......

Maybe not, but I'm still newby skum [1] Any other recommendations of
    getting one at below RRP?
Hmmm. Interested in a small[2] wager on this? I would really *love*
to find this is the case. People said that about the Lazer though,
and Fog Cities. I've misted both of them without trying. One of the
reasons that I'm tempted back to a fixed front helmet is that I can
then fit a foggy mask, which IME both prevents misting, and keeps the
face warm on chilly mornings, as well as doubling (tripling) as a
handy mucus receptacle [3] in the event of a winter sneeze

[1] Though I will enjoy lording it ovre those that do no own a 'old
    skool' UKRM t-shirt ;)
[2] And I do mean small. Bottles of malt type small [4]
[3] Though not as good as the mask on the lazer of course
[4] And this is the Llagavullin 16 year old type, not the 'recovered
from the wreck of the SS Politician' type

Riossi. They were flogging the last ones they had at 100 quid. They
had imported them directly from Germany, bypassing Bickers, who are
    the official importers.
'Kin right. The Uvex visor doesn't mist. Held over a boiling kettle,
it doesn't mist. I am a very sweaty bastard and I can't get it to
mist - the only time I ever came close was during a spirited ride in
early Spring, when I was getting uncomfortably hot and it rained on
    me.

There was steam coming up off the road as soon as the sun came out
again, and then I had to stop at some temporary traffic lights. There
was sweat trickling down my neck and running down my face, but I
didn't lift the visor for fresh air as I could see the empty road in
front of me and assumed that I wouldn't be stationary for very long.
After a couple of minutes, droplets formed along the top of the inside
of the visor, some of which ran down towards the chinpiece. It didn't
mist though - not in the vision-obscuring fogging over type of mist.

The droplets were largely outside my area of vision in any case, and
evaporated within a few minutes of getting going again.
    I was dead impressed ;-)

As Bear implies, the visor does need adjusting, in order to seal
properly. Uvex send the helmets out with the (legal) tinted visor
fitted and that seals fine. The extra thickness of the double-glazed
visor necessitates loosening the mounting screws and sliding them
forward a touch so that the visor will close tight on to the chin
seal. Oddly, once this is done, the tinted visor seals as well and
    neither visor leaks at all.

So you never need to open the visor, the chin vent allows a good flow
of fresh air around the lower face so breathing is unobstructed, the
chin curtain keeps draughts out and no water ever gets in. It is the
perfect foul weather lid, I reckon.
