  1. My first consideration. I don't look at lids that don't have them.

Nidge fascinated us all by saying...
It's not just your Gemma's AGV. When I was managing HG in Harrow I sent
back all 40 of the latest and greatest top-of-the-range AGV Ti-Techs[1]
I'd just had delivered. Every single one of them had a paintwork defect
of some kind, two had linings falling apart, another had a crack in the
outer shell when it came out of the box. AGV build quality and quality
control are a fucking disgrace. The cracked lid was one of the most
expensive they make, yet the shell was less than 1mm thick around the
area where the chinbar meets the main part of the lid, you could almost
push your thumbs through the helmet. An Arai is at least 3.2 mm thick at
    any point of the shell.

In contrast, I sold 5 times more Arais than AGVs over the time I worked
for HG, and never had to return any for a warranty problem of any kind.

[1] 379-99ukp to you sir, which is more expensive than most Arais.

You just can't beat Arai for quality, but it comes at a price.
If you want excellent value for money, get an HJC AC10. If it fits you
properly, you'll have a helmet that is just short of Arai top of the
range spec and quality for less than half the price.

I really rate HJC as the best VFM lids out there.

FM are cheap and nasty shite, don't expect it to last. Pay a little more
for an HJC and it'll outlast the FM by quite a margin.

Arai RV recommended list price is 209-99ukp. That's a hell of a good lid
    for the money.

I am biased, last 2 have ben FM. Comfy etc. Agree that falling apart is a
problem though, hat is why I am after a new lid. Starting to fancy a Uvex
if I can find a price.
But according to the website they only do black in a flip up.

Ok, so I am looking at HJC AC10(black, end of line according to the korean
    website) or a Uvex then.

    Or blindly go with FM :=}

    'Tis only a 61 - I normally (!) take a XXL or 62/3 depending on
    manufacturer.
Like wire wool after it has been out in the rain for a while.
