Helmet advice (follow on from dump post)

  1. I wish some German with a sense of humour[1] would make an open face
helmet styled along the lines of the Wehrmacht coal-scuttle helmet. I
    reckon he'd make a fortune.

[1] We know they exist - they all seem to be on ukrm.

  2. Naaaaah, mate. What they really should do is a helmet styled along the lines
of the Pickelhaube. If we're going to go retro, let's go truly retro with a
WW1 design. This would also be a "good thing" as more Euro-friendly and not
being loaded with the brutal, dictatorial and expansionist associations of
    the WW2 effort.

I suppose a helmet modelled on the British Army's standard issue helmet
wouldn't be such a great idea, as the wind would get under the "brim" and
tear your head off. Next year is the 200th anniversary of the battle of
Trafalgar, so how about a Nelsonian helmet?

My next lid (scheduled for 2006) will be something with a removable
lining, and preferably take the dark visor I already have (which means
    something like an Arai Quantum)

Or it could be something completely different. What's good these days,
but not gay (ie. no flip-fronts...)

    ....or gig-related deafness.
    ....with a Fog City insert.
    ....nor me.

Only problem I have, at all, with Arai lids is that they cost an
absolutely fucking arm and a leg.

The shop I deal with has the solid colors for a reasonable price ($279)
every so often. I like mine for comfort and the ease of changing visors.

That's what, 500 quid? Same as an Arai RX7RR replica.

    Next!
