    Nah... the midlife crisis happens when you sell the big heavy touring bike,
    and try and convince yourself that your middle aged, pot bellied, out of
    condition body still fits on an R1 :)

    Naaah all the Ulyssians I've met have joined as *part* of their mid life crisis
    buy a motorcycle activity (that way they get to wear a patch while riding a
    harley without any of the tiresome committment that goes with joining a 1% club

    I didn't get JL's post, so I'll respond through Ron's.

    About 25 - 30 Ulyssians ride twice a week in Hobart. One bike is a Harley,
    two others are cruiser-type bikes. Many, maybe even most, of the Ulyssians
    I've met over the past twelve years have ridden bikes since their teens.
    Some of them are the tearaways who gave riders a tasty reputation in the
    1960's.

    There are a couple of 60+ riders who I doubt many who sneer at Ulyssians
    would have a hope of keeping up with on any road. And guess what, they've
    all made it this far, whereas many of the sneerers will be dead long before
    they're qualified for Ulysses membership. Sad, perhaps, but inevitable. I
    hope you're not one of them, JL.

    obviously needs to upgrade to a news reader with the "Reply To Sender"
    feature.
