Any exceptions for Canberra residents would need to exclude sitting
    members of parliment :)

Nah. I could do 100kmh on an MZ in 4th. OK, needle buried in the
redline, but that was normal operating procedure so no problem.

Not that changing into top made for much improvement....

    Zebee
    - who did once wind it off the stop, but that was downhill, crouched
behind the clocks and a decent following wind.

ooohhh.....nice one betty. Makes me feel a little braver. I too am a
30-something female who has been lurking for a while in the hope of learning
    stuff.
But alas.....nothing here but a bloody good laugh, some decent sounding
blokes, wicked bikes and lots of beer...............YES!!!
I can now go back to lurking in Perth............

Bwahahahahaha! I do not fear the peak hour!!!! (ok, I fibbed..... I do.....)
Hey, today was my second time down the Clyde (last time it was bucketing
down with rain and I was all by myself, and terrified.) Today was sunny and
dry and I knew I had buddies waiting for me at the bottom - and I had a
fantastic time! Going DOWN is far scarier than coming back up, which was
really good fun. I think I said something in an earlier post about how
brilliant motorbike people are? Well, the small group I rode with today were
all really fast, really experienced riders on powerful bikes - but they
didn't make me feel bad for being slower than they were... and they didn't
make me feel as if I was holding them back - they went at their own pace and
waited in various places for me to catch up... they had somebody stationed
by the side of the road after the worst of the twisty bits, to keep an eye
out for me..... It was fantastic. I felt as if I took myself outside my
comfort zone, but not enough to scare myself - so I know that next time I'll
    be even better....

There's a bit of road between Braidwood and Bungendore where you're going
downhill, but ahead of you, you can see the road rolling out - uphill,
downhill, curving this way and that, and there's so much sky, and there are
cows in the fields and you feel like you can see almost forever..... and you
wonder how much better life can get......

  18. I know it well, Batty <--genuine typo, honest! Ride it on a weekday (well,
except most of Friday) and you'll never do it in peak hours again! Before
you know it, you'll be offering to work weekends for weekdays off.

Nice to hear you had fun, were looked after and can respect your own
personal limits. Here's to many more wonderful rides!

  19. I guess its cause all the regulars have already had the relevant bike
conversations, so now just talk shit generally or argue about the
best/worst/ugliest/fastest bike etc. But ask the pertinant question and
you'll be surprised what people know. At least you're not a Doherty
