    Yeah - nice photo.

I just remember being told that if the angle of your inside arm is 90
degrees or more then you're leaning the wrong way.

But hey, you're the racer.)

Heh. I was always told, go as fast as you fucking can and dont crash the
bike or youll pay for it, you slow wobbling ****.

And the inside arm looks about 87 degrees to me so thats OK,

Top three on the left look like they have been hit with a "gay stick".

Andrew on the bottom seconf from right, looks like that comedian bloke of'f
Northen Lights, and Gresh has his head on unside down.

Kirsty looks OK in a rough and ready way mind.

Taking that to it's logical conclusion, shouldn't Ginge be getting through
    fucking loads of knee-sliders?

(p.s. s*rry Rob, I'm sure there are slower ukrmers than you. It's just far
easier to perpetuate existing myths than create new ones)

You sad bastard!! I can't believe you went to all that trouble to present us
    with such a shit graph!!

You wouldn't catch me wasting my time knocking up something as pointless as
    that merely for ukrm's benefit.

LOL- nice one. I still want to hear more about this going fast/not leaning
    as far principle though.

    Not true.

    I watched this last night...

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368721/

Apparently because of the way Rossi uses his body weight to control
the bike mid-corner be exerting pressure on his knee he goes through a
set of sliders every time he goes out.

IANAE but here's my understanding :

The greater the lean angle the less feasible it is to change your current
speed (i.e. by accelerating hard, decelerating or braking) without
    significantly upsetting the bike.

The further you have the bike leant over - the further away (timewise) you
are from being able to get back on the power.

So it follows that maximum lean angle is only condusive to good lap-times
when your corner *entry* speed is closest to the maximum achievable[1]
corner speed as there would be no significant gains in getting on the power
    any earlier.

[1] determined by available grip etc

I got a WMV of that. Its absolutly superb, one from last year would be good
also. And I never did get the Sky footage from Donginton.

Did you notice he goes into corners with the clutch fully disengaged,
then feeds it back in as he gets on the power? I don't remember him
doing that on the Honda. I wonder if the anti-hop on the Yam's not up
to scratch, & that's his way of dealing with it.

I didn't download it, it was on the pay-per-view movies on Telewest
Cable. Was flicking through to see if there was anything and it was a
    toss-up between that and Troy.

Quite interesting to watch despite having seen every race over the
2001/2002/2003 seasons I found a lot of the technical info and gossip
    fascinating.
No rush. I hadn't actually noticed.

Yeah but if you're trying to keep the bike as upright as possible to aid
traction, and therefore earliest acceleration after the apex, surely you'd
be hanging off and therefore easily placed for kneedown action should you
desire it. The more off you are the more upright the bike can be right and
the earlier you can get on the power, no?

    Update:

    IAATC.

I think I've binned it, in the great
    "PostParamountEmailThreatClearoutFrenzy" of 2004.

I can't find it on the PC.

Probably because you are getting the corners right.

David Jefferies NEVER got his knee down on the TT.
