OK, Heathrow terminal 1-3, Gatwick N+S plus Stansted have proven bike
friendly during the last 2-3 years, but is bike parking at Heathrow
terminal 4 equally trouble- and £-free?

Just noticed that my next flight is from T4 (new to me).

Park at terminal 1 and use the HEX to go to 4; Pretty certain they don't
check tickets on that little section.

You don't need a ticket, it's free for terminal transfer.

Thanks. How much time should I plan for the transfer? 20 minutes?

Hmm.. Bit more, in case. You have to get to and from the train and that
takes a few minutes. And they're every 15 minutes, so if you get unlucky
you could be on the platform for a while. Half an hour should be fairly
    safe.

  6. There's free bike parking at T4, under the ramp leading away from the
    drop-off point.

Indeed. And in my experience it's much easier to find a space there
than it is at T1. Proper marked out bays, too.

Follow "Arrivals" (ie. down the slope rather than up it). Take the
leftmost lane, which is signposted "buses". The entrance to the bike
parking area is on the left past the terminal building, as the road
    bends right towards the exit.

    Thanks, both.

Living closer to T4 than the other three, it would be very suboptimal to
spend more time getting to and find a vacant spot at T1 [1], and then
another half hour getting to T4.

[1] I have never had difficulties to find room in the T2 or T3 bike
    parks, though.
